Rich people used to offfer costly presents and delicious dishes to Baba. One year in a similar manner many rich people brought various delicious dishes to Baba. Baba did not accept a single one in spite of their entreaties to Him. When Shyama asked him for reason, He said,"My food has not yet come. Within a short period it will come to the outskirts of the village." Unable to understand what Baba said, they all kept quiet. After sometime Baba said to Shyama. "Shyama, there is an old lady under a particular tree in the outskirts Unable to come here in this crowd, She is helpless and distressed. Go and bring her her carefully." Shyama went and recognised her and brought her to Baba. As she entered, Baba rose from His seat and went forward to receive her. He held her by the shoulder and brought her in. He made her sit on His SEAT and said, "Mother, who have you brought to eat, for this SON of yours' Baba asked her very lovingly, She had innocent devotion for Baba. She did not know of pomp and show around Baba. She had prepared JAWAR ROTIS on the previous day and came on foot to Shirdi to offer this feast to Baba. Seeing all the grandeur and riches, she hesitated to offer them to Baba. Omniscient Lord Sai recognized her thoughts and decided toeat those Rotes. So He asked her, "/tell me Ma, what did you bring for me' Her face shrunk in shame ans she said, "I haven't got anything." Baba said, "Oh you have brought something for Me and youare telling lies. There is something under your arm. Give it to Me." saying thus, He grabbed a small bag that was under her arm and began to eat the jawar rotes happily. He turned to Shyama and said,"This is My food. of what use are all hese food items which are rich in name and poor in love" God is not after the taste in food. He sees the heart of the person who offfers. Lord accepts and consumes anything that is offered with a loving heat. The Lord sees the INNER and not the OUTER. Gurudeva, Please bless us all with Bhakti like that of Shavari Ma. Please accept our Heart full of Love for YOU and Let us enjoy the samtosham in Your divine eyes after that.
